This listing of ammonium nitrate producers and their production capacities was compiled from survey responses, review comments, press releases, trade publications, websites and personal contacts. Producers, plants and data of which we have knowledge are included. The inclusion or exclusion of any company has nothing to do with a favorable or unfavorable recommendation on the part of IFDC.
We appreciate the cooperation of the world ammonium nitrate industry, particularly the companies that responded to our survey. All announcements of new plants or expansions of existing plants of we are aware have been included. IFDC has not tried to make a subjective judgment on whether each plant will or will not be built. Some plants that have been announced will likely not receive the necessary financing or will encounter other difficulties and will never be built.
Capacity for a plant, in this report, is defined as the maximum production that is considered sustainable for a typical operating year (U.S., Canada, Trinidad - 340 days; all other countries - 330 days). Data are given for fertilizer years (July 1 - June 30). For example, 14/15 indicates July 2014 through June 2015.
