Inflation is forecast to edge up to an average of 6.8% in 2014, before easing to 5.8% in 2015. Inflation will remain within a range of 4.5-5.2% in 2016-18, barring a serious drought, helped by prudent monetary policy.
The current-account deficit is forecast to narrow from around 8.9% of GDP in 2014 to 4% of GDP in 2018, helped by steady growth in earnings from exports (although invisibles receipts will remain vulnerable to negative global developments).
