Since the publication of the previous Edition of the Worldwide Rubber Statistics, the IISRP has established an office in Beijing to obtain more detailed and accurate information about the capacity situation in China Many previously announced expansions have been postponed or canceled In addition many plants thought to have been in operation were either delayed or never came on line The IISRP office is in conjunction with the China Synthetic Rubber Industry Association and via our Staff Liaison, Harry Sun, we have been able to obtain better intelligence about the dynamics of the Chinese synthetic rubber industry
This Edition also has more current information on future capacity (Tables 18A-C) as many of the projects in other regions have been delayed or postponed indefinitely Contributing to this has been the sluggish Eurozone economy, less than robust economies in the
