There is growing speculation that there could be a change of leadership in the ruling Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) in 2015. The EPRDF is expected to win that year's elections, however.
The main threat to Ethiopian stability is likely to arise from external terrorist groups, and in particular Somalia's al-Shabab, which may seek to mount an attack on Ethiopian targets because of the country's military role in Somalia.
