The South West Africa People's Organisation (SWAPO), which has governed Namibia since the country gained independence, will dominate the political scene, having secured a landslide victory in the November 2014 elections.
The president-elect, Hage Geingob-who will succeed Hifikepunye Pohamba in March 2015—will pursue a pro-business agenda while making some minor concessions to the radical wing of SWAPO in order to maintain party unity.
