Voreqe (Frank) Bainimarama, the coup leader who became the democratically elected prime minister following the general election on September 17th, will remain in power in 2015-16.
With a comfortable parliamentary majority, the government will have little difficulty in passing legislation. But the transition from rule by decree to working within the framework of a parliamentary democracy will take time.
