The political situation will be broadly stable under the rule of the king, Mohammed VI. Demands for improved living standards will exert some pressure on the regime, which will respond with further modest reforms.
The fiscal account will remain in deficit in 2015-19 as the government spends heavily to reduce social discontent, but the deficit will narrow considerably, helped by the removal of fuel subsidies in 2014 and low commodity prices.
Real GDP growth will average 4.4% a year in 2015-19, driven by strong activity in manufacturing and services. It will remain vulnerable to volatility in the rain-fed agricultural sector and to economic troubles in Europe.
