As a result of its oil revenue, Norway is one of the wealthiest economies in the world. Unemployment is low at only 3.4% in 2014 and income is more evenly distributed than in many other European countries. In 2014, 62% of households were estimated to earn above US$75,000.
Measured at purchasing power parity (PPP), GDP per head was an estimated US$68,090 in 2014, the second highest in the OECD after Luxembourg. This translates into a high level of disposable income per head and spending on telecommunications services and information and communications technology (ICT) goods.
