Slovakia's new-car registrations rose by 9．5％in 2014，after dipping in 2013, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers‘Association(ACEA)．
The Economist Intelligence Unit expects new-car registrations to continue to rise in the coming years，given what iS still a relatively small passenger-car stock,and rising real incomes．W色expect growth in new-car registrations to average 5％a year in 2015-19．Commercial vehicle registrations have been rising since 2013 and should continue to expand． Slovakia's automotive industry is one of the main drivers of the country's economic growth，principally through export sales，after three major foreign carmakezs established production facilities in the 1990s and 2000S．According to the Slovak Automotive Industry Association(ZAPSR)，automotive production accounts for an estimated 25％of manufacturing output and 30％ of total industrial output． An estimated 98％of the industry's output is destined for export，mainly to other EU markets．Slovalda is therefore well-placed tO benefit from the recovery in the EU market,which registered its fLrSt annual growth for seven years in 2014．This still left the market far smaller than the 15．53m units reported in 200Z before the global economic crash．
