Mobile telecommunications is the largest segment of the market. The mobile-phone market is highly saturated and increasingly mature. Many customers have multiple subscriptions. In 2013 there were an estimated 131.3 subscriptions per 100 people. This is expected to rise to 145.3 per 100 people by the end of the 2015-19 forecast period.
All three core players in the Czech mobile market have introduced third-generation (3G) universal mobile telecommunications service (UMTS) systems, to allow high-speed access to the Internet. Competition remains intense as new entrants look set to enter the market in the near term.
