摘要
New passenger-car registrations grew by 21.6% to 70,172 units in 2014, after a steep fall in 2008-13. This was the third-fastest growth rate in the EU, after Portugal and Croatia, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). More than 80% of car acquisitions are by companies. The Economist Intelligence Unit predicts further gradual growth in car sales in 2015-19, driven by growth in real incomes and credit.
Romania is the fourth-largest vehicle producer in east-central Europe, after the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. Car production fell by 4-8% in 2014, to 391,422 units, after growing by 25.8% in 2013. This was largely owing to falling demand for vehicles produced at the Ford plant at Craiova, according to the (Romanian) Association of Producers and Importers of Automobiles (APIA).
The growth in passenger-car exports slowed to 0.4% year on year in 2014, to 364,251 units, following growth of about 13% year on year in both 2012 and 2013. Romania, and particularly its budget carmaker Dacia (owned by Renault of France), should benefit from the recovery in EU car markets, as well as developing market demand.
