摘要

Pakistan's consumer goods and retailing industry is underdeveloped but will continue to expand from a low base.Organised retail chains are still in their infancy,and the few supermarkets in operation are mostly concentrated in the country's main commercial hub,Karachi;its second—largest city,Lahore;and the capital,Islamabad. Sustained population growth in 2015—19 means that although personal disposable income per head will rise rapidly,it will continue to be low,at about US$1,773 in 2019. Household income is set to rise rapidly,and the proportion of households earning more than US$5,000一considered to be the point at which discretionary spending can rise rapidly-will increase from 76%in 2014 to 95% in 2019.However,the relatively large number of people per household means that income per head will remain relatively low.
