The Economist Intelligence Unit expects Turkey's young,growing population， rising incomes and expanding access to credit to support solid vehicle sales growth during the forecast period．GDP per head at purchasing power parity (PPP)should rise from an estimate of about US$19，600 in 2014，already well above the”trigger point”for cor sales，to iust under US$26，000 in 2019． The market will be volatile．However,with consumem reacting to changes in interest rates，exchange rates and availability of credit，all of which are likely to be significantly affected by tightening global li quidity．Around 60％of all new vehicles are imponed，making prices sensitive to exchange-rate fluctuations．We expect the Ibrkish lira to weaken agaLnst the US dollar and against the euro，which could dampen impon demand．A weaker lira could boost sales abroad(about 75％of vehicles produced in Turkey are exported)． The government is increasing investment to modemise the railway system, but road transport will continue to dominate，supporting demand growth for vehicles．
