As of 2012，healthcare expenditure in Egypt accounted for around 5％of GDB according to the World Health Organisation(WHO)．This is higher than in
Saudi Arabia(3．2％in 2012)but lower than in Israel(7．5％)． Egypt's spending is expected to rise steadily to 6％of GDP by 2019．The new constitution，which was passed in January 2014，stipulates that the state must spend a minimum of 10％of GDP on health and education． The Economist Intelligence Unit expects healthcare spending per head to rise to E￡2，678．4(US$349)in 201．9，up from Eel．089．7 in 2013．Nearly 2 percentage points of this rise in spending will be down to population growth．
