摘要
Poland has developed a well-regulated financial market, overseen by the National Bank of Poland (NBP, the central bank) and the Financial Supervision Commission (KNF). Despite the country's proximity to the troubled euro area, its banking sector has so far managed to deal with the strains of international financial turmoil without significant problems. However, some Polish banks are also exposed to Ukraine and Russia, where political risks have risen and the economic outlook has deteriorated since Russia's annexation of Crimea in March 2014.
The financial services sector is a less important component of the economy in Poland compared with other EU countries. In 2013 it generated 4.4% of Polish GDP, below the 5.5% average across the economic bloc, according to Eurostat. The sector employed 2.3% of the Polish labour force, less than the EU average of 2.9%.
