The vehide manufacturing sector is a vital source of foreign investment。 export revenue and employment for the Hungarian economy．The sectorwhich includes the production ofmotor vehides，associated parts，trailers and other transport vehides-accounted for around 18％of all industrial sales in 2013，and nearly 30％of industrial export sales．Car exports account for around 15％of all exports． Following five consecutive years of contraction，automotive production returned to growth in 2011-12 and has been expanding healthily,driving industrial output growth and exports．According to the European Automobile
Manufacturers。Association(ACEA)，Hungary produced 222,400 motor vehicles in 2013，of which 220，000 were passenger cars． Hungary's new-car market has also recovered in recent years，although it remains far smaller than its peak in 2003．In 2014 ACEA recorded 62476 new passenger-car registrations，an increase of around 20％on 2013，compared with the average rise in the EU of 5．7％．Light commercial vehicles showed even stronger growth，of 39．7％，although the truck market was more subdued．
