Interest rates will broadly track those in the US, largely because the Kuwaiti dinar is pegged to a US dollar-dominated basket. We expect the US policy rate to increase gradually from 0.75% in 2015 to 3.5% in 2019.
The current-account surplus is expected to narrow from 33% of GDP in 2015 to 26% of GDP in 2019 as oil prices fall.
