摘要
Although martial law is preventing further violence on the streets, the May 2014 military coup has not resolved Thailand's deep political divisions. The looming royal succession will continue to destabilise the country.
The government's top policy priority will be to revive GDP growth by boosting public investment (especially in large infrastructure projects), fast-tracking foreign-investment approvals and stimulating consumer spending.
The current account will remain in surplus in 2015-19, but it will shrink as a proportion of GDP as import growth quickens. A recovery in tourism in 2015-19 will help to keep the current account in the black.
