The automotive industry forms an integral part of the Swedish economy and is among the countrys main export sectors. The industry is led by Volvo Cars (now owned by China's Geely), as well as commercial vehicle (CV) makers Volvo Group and Scania. However, production fell sharply following the bankruptcy of one of the country's leading carmakers, Saab, in 2011.
